Air Fryer Roasted Radishes (Ready in 20 Minutes)
If you’re not sure what to do with radishes beyond tossing them into a salad, these air fryer radishes are about to change that. They cook up tender on the inside with lightly crisp, caramelized edges on the outside, and the sharp bite of raw radishes mellows into a slightly sweet, savory flavor. Made with just a few simple ingredients, this is an easy side dish that comes together in about 20 minutes and pairs well with just about any meal.
I started making this recipe after growing more radishes than I knew what to do with and wanting a better way to use them. After testing different methods, I found that the air fryer gives you the best texture in half the time of roasting in the oven. It’s now my go-to way to cook radishes; quick, reliable, and one of those simple recipes that surprises people every time they try it.

If you’re looking for more easy ways to cook vegetables in the air fryer, there are plenty of options to try. My Air Fryer Broccoli and Cauliflower and Air Fryer Frozen Green Beans are both quick, go-to side dishes, and the Zucchini and Yellow Squash in the Air Fryer is perfect when you want something simple and fresh. If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, the Air Fryer Rutabaga Fries are another underrated favorite and a great way to switch things up.

What Do Roasted Radishes Taste Like?
Roasted radishes are much milder than raw. As they cook, the sharp, peppery bite softens and they take on a slightly sweet, savory flavor; similar to roasted potatoes, but a bit lighter and more watery. Even if you don’t love raw radishes, they’re worth trying cooked.
How to make air fryer radishes
Start by prepping the radishes, cutting off the tail and the end and the top root area if it’s brown. Cut the radishes in half (or quarters if they are very large). The key is that they are all about the same thickness. Add the radishes to a large bowl. Add the olive oil and spices and stir well to coat. Add the radishes to the air fryer basket and turn on 390F for 18 minutes. While the radishes are cooking, pause the air fryer 1-2 times during cooking to shake the basket to ensure the radishes cook evenly. You will know the radishes are done when they have a golden brown exterior and are soft on the inside.
Tips for success
- Best served right away – Air fryer radishes are best eaten hot. As they sit, they soften and lose some of their crispy edges.
- What texture to expect – They should be caramelized on the outside and soft on the inside, similar to a roasted potato.

Recipe Notes
- Cut radishes evenly – Cut most radishes in half and larger ones into quarters so they cook evenly.
- Toss well with oil – Coat the radishes evenly with olive oil so the spices stick and the edges get slightly crispy.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer – Spread the radishes in a single layer so they roast instead of steam. Cook in batches if needed.
- Preheat if needed – If your air fryer requires preheating, make sure to do that for the best texture.
- Preheat the oven to 450F.
- Cut the radish, coat them in olive oil and spices. Add them to a parchment paper or silicone lined baking sheet.
- Roast the radishes in the 450F oven for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, stir and return to the oven for 5-10 more minutes until roasted.
