Strawberry Banana Mango Smoothie
If you’re a fan of the classic strawberry banana smoothie, you’re going to love this strawberry mango and banana smoothie. The mango adds extra sweetness and a creamy, tropical vibe that takes this simple smoothie to the next level. It’s refreshing, satisfying, and perfect for hot summer mornings when you want something cold and naturally sweet.
To make smoothies more filling, I always add protein. Vanilla protein powder blends in seamlessly, but Greek yogurt works great too if that’s what you have on hand. Either way, this mango strawberry and banana smoothie will keep you full and energized until lunch.
Looking for more smoothies with that same high-protein, summer-ready feel? Try my carrot and banana smoothie (it tastes like carrot cake), my strawberry peach smoothie (so refreshing), or my mango strawberry smoothie bowl, because let’s be honest, this flavor combo is hard to beat.
Ingredient spotlight
Protein powder – I recommend using a vegan vanilla protein powder—it pairs perfectly with the tropical fruit flavors and also helps to make the smoothie a bit thicker. If you’re using whey protein, the smoothie might be a bit thinner, so try using slightly less milk (start with 3/4 cup) or blend in 1/4 cup of rolled oats for a creamier texture. Using collagen peptides? You may want to add a little honey or maple syrup for balance as well as reduce the milk.

Optional Add-In’s
Want to boost the nutrition or change up the flavor? Try one or more of these simple additions:
- Chia seeds or ground flax – Add fiber, healthy fats, and a thicker texture.
- Hidden veggies – Toss in frozen cauliflower rice, spinach, kale, zucchini, or even beets. These won’t affect the flavor much but may change the color.
- Creaminess boost – Add 1/2 an avocado or 1/2 cup of yogurt (regular or Greek). If it tones down the sweetness, just add a little honey or maple syrup.
- Fresh herbs – A handful of mint or basil adds a fresh twist without overpowering the fruit.
Common questions
No frozen fruit?
If you don’t have frozen fruit on hand, simply add 1/2 -1 cup ice to the smoothie if you are trying to make it today. However, if you want to freeze fresh fruit for smoothies, check out my guide on how to freeze fruit for smoothies.
How to store leftovers?
Smoothies are best fresh, but if you have leftovers, don’t toss them. Pour the smoothie into ice cube trays or popsicle molds. Popsicles are a fun way to cool off on hot days, and smoothie cubes can be blended later with a splash of milk or coconut water for a quick refresh.
