Strawberry Blackberry Smoothie
Strawberry blackberry smoothies are sweet, creamy and delicious. This ready in minutes smoothie is perfect as a grab-and-go breakfast, snack or as a smoothie bowl with lots of yummy of toppings. This super simple blackberry strawberry smoothie is also loaded with nourishing antioxidants and vitamins that are good for you.
You can use all frozen fruit or a variety of fresh and frozen. For the best texture and thicker, creamier consistency, I recommend using all frozen fruit. If you want to use fresh fruit, be sure to add about 1 cup of ice and reduce the dairy free milk or water to 1/4 cup.
Make this a strawberry blackberry banana smoothie by adding half a banana. This banana will really make this smoothie thick and creamy and add some additional natural sweetness.
If you don’t have any strawberries or blackberries, you can substitute any combination of berries or fruits such as: banana, mango, raspberries, blueberries or even dark sweet cherries.
The protein powder adds thickness and sweetness to the smoothie. If you are not using protein powder or if your protein powder is not sweetened, I recommend adding 1-2 tablespoons of honey or maple syrup (or 1 or 2 pitted dates).
If you are using a whey-based protein or collagen peptides, you can add about ¼ cup of oats to help keep the thickness consistency of the smoothie or you can use less water/milk.
