Pressure cooker black beans, no soaking required! Cook dried black beans in under an hour and use them anywhere you would normally use canned beans! Cooking dried black beans from scratch is budget friendly and so easy.

Add the dried black beans to the insert for the Instant Pot. Pick through them for rocks or debris.
Rinse the beans quickly with some clean water and discard this water.
Add the rinsed beans back to the Instant Pot and cover with 5 cups of water.
Cook on high pressure for 25 minutes.
Allow the pressure to naturally release.
Drain the water from cooking. Use like the canned version in any recipe. Store in the fridge 3-4 days.
Notes
If you want to make black beans quicker in the pressure cooker, soak them in advance. Check out the post above for tips on how to soak black beans. If you would like a firmer black bean, please adjust the recipes as follows:
No soak: Change water from 5 cups to 4 cups. Do not change cooking time.
