Homemade Pickled Red Onions 


Pickled onions are the best way to add flavor to a dish! These homemade pickled red onions are made without added sugar, making them Whole30 and low carb friendly! Serve them on tacos, salads, grain bowls, eggs, avocado toast or anyway you love them!

Red onionsRed wine vinegarWaterSaltBlack peppercorns (optional)Mustard seeds (optional)

Step 1

Thinly slice the onions. I cut the onions in half, then cut them into 1/2 moons.


Step 2

Combine the red wine vinegar, water and salt in a pan. Bring it up to a boil.


Step 3

Stuff the onions into a glass jar. Add the optional black peppercorn and mustard seeds on top.


Step 4

Pour the pickling liquid over the onions. Let sit on counter until the glass is no longer hot, then transfer to fridge.
