This peanut butter dip is perfect for dipping apples or topping your pancakes, oatmeal or cauliflower oats! This peanut butter dip is simple to make, dairy free, gluten free, and vegan! And if you have picky eaters, this is the perfect way to get some protein in your little ones (as long as they don’t have any peanut allergies that is).
For me the perfect snack or post workout meal is peanut butter and apples! But for the past year I have been tracking my macros and I usually over-do my fat if I just use peanut butter for my apple dipping after a workout. So I started making this high protein peanut butter dip instead! There actually isn’t any peanut butter in this dip (spoiler alert)!
Instead I used peanut flour (or peanut powder). I keep my cabinets stocks with this stuff! It’s made from real peanuts, they are roasted and a dry powder if formed after the oil from the roasted peanuts is extracted. I love peanut flour because it’s much lower in fat that peanut butter, lower in carbs and high in protein! It’s the perfect compromise on my lower fat days!
If you are trying to find peanut flour in your grocery store, I know Jif and PB Fit can be found in most grocery stores. However, just like other peanut butter products, many of these products have added sugar! So grab the Jif or an organic brand if you can find it! I usually have a 1 pound bag of Protein Plus Peanut Powder (affiliate) in my cabinets. I’ve been using this brand for 5+ years. It’s a staple in my house! PS if you pick up a bag of peanut flour, you have to make these peanut butter brownies! They are AMAZING!
You will also need some vegan protein powder to make this peanut butter dip! You can use vanilla or chocolate, but I prefer the vanilla! If you don’t use a vegan protein, you may need to adjust the amount of milk you use in this recipe, since the vegan protein tends to absorb a ton of liquid! My favorite brand is Vega Performance Protein (affiliate). I use it for just about everything!

Peanut Butter Dip
This high protein vegan peanut butter dip is perfect for dipping sliced apples in or spread over bananas! Dairy free, gluten free and perfect for picky kiddos!
- 3 tbsp peanut flour
- 3 tbsp vegan protein powder, vanilla or chocolate I used 1/2 scoop Vega Performance Protein
- 1/2 cup dairy free milk
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
In a small bowl combine the ingredients and stir well. Serve with your favorite fruit as a dip or as a spread on toast, pancakes or stirred in oatmeal!
