Today I have a fun beginner workout for you to try! I like to provide quick and effective workouts that will help you get your workout done in under 20 minutes a day. This helps take out the excuse that you don’t have time to exercise! Who doesn’t have 15 minutes 4 days a week? Sometimes it just takes having a schedule to stick to and a workout already written for us to start our fitness journey.
I remember when I first started working out. I would get the Fitness magazine and attempt the workout in the magazine; which often had insanely difficult moves for me as a beginner, or it had exercises I couldn’t do without a gym membership. Either way I often felt discouraged and that I would never be strong enough to do any of those exercises. But then luckily, I stumbled on a few fitness DVD’s that were easy to follow and the workouts were about 20-25 minutes, just long enough that I wanted to die but not so long that I actually did.
I kept all of this in mind when I design my workouts! To show you exactly what you can expect if you sign up for the weekly workouts and meal plan, I thought I would give you a sneak peak at one of the Beginner’s workouts, right from the site. I hope you try it and let me know what you thought.
If you are excited about how this workout is written but just know that you need someone to help hold you accountable, get you started on the right foot, have you focusing on the right goals and give you a well laid out plan on how to achieve those goals, I would love to help you! I offer online personal training as well, in our Fit Wellness program. This 12 week program will help you clearly define your goals and give you an actionable plan on how to achieve those goals, from personal training to meal planning to cooking tutorials, I will help you with all the various facets of building and maintaining a healthy, fit body.
Not a beginner? Well you will have to come back next week for a sneak peak at our intermediate workout, or leave me a message in the comments and I will send one to your inbox to try!
The self paced workouts are all based on high intensity interval training (or HIIT). There are so many fantastic reasons to train your body using HIIT, I wrote an entire post about the benefits of high intensity exercise! So go check that out if you are interested! One of the reasons I love HIIT workouts are they are fast and effective and you rarely have time to get bored. And because the workout is different everyday, you never have the chance to get stagnant or not feel challenged.
I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t also offer some weight training workouts as well in this program. Much like my beginners series, these exercises are easy to do at home and only require a few dumbbells, but can be modified for resistance bands as well. Building lean muscle is the goal for this program, it helps keep your body metabolically active, which means you are burning more calories all day long, whether or not you worked out that day.
So for today’s workout, you will need a timer and a mat or carpet to workout on. I use an app on my phone for the timer, it’s called Interval Timer. Or send me an email and I am more than happy to help get you set up!
