Creating morning routines that will help reduce inflammation from the day before is easier than you might think. You may not necessarily recognize that you are constantly causing inflammation in the body! Inflammation can be caused by many things, intense exercise, eating inflammatory foods or a stressful lifestyle. The good news is that you can create morning routines to help reduce inflammation from the day before!

Morning Routines

Morning routines aren't meant to overwhelm you or create more stress in your life.

The first part of the morning routine actually starts the night before. Getting to sleep early enough so you can wake up just 30 minutes earlier than usual so you don't have a rushed morning is the first part of this anti-inflammatory morning routine. By reducing stress you are already going to be set up for a less inflammatory day!

Start the day with a glass of warm lemon water. Lemon water can help kick-start your liver and help you start the body's natural detoxification processes. Lemon water also provides the electrolytes potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Lacking in these electrolytes can cause you to feel sore and extend the healing time from intense workouts. Did you know that lemon water can actually help reduce muscle and joint pain as well?

Move your body gently. Start your day by practicing a 5 minute meaning yoga sequence. If you don't feel comfortable with creating your own flow, you can check out this great 5 minute yoga sequence from Tara Stiles.

Write in a gratitude journal. By starting your day in a space of gratitude and recognizing all the good in your life, you will be setting up your day to be more positive. Reducing the stress in your day is an easy way to reduce inflammation in the body. By starting your day with gratitude, you are more likely to be able to stay in this positive mindset later in the day when things get stressful (like traffic).

Morning routines that can help fight inflammation - turmeric supplement

Turmeric

Drink at least 20 oz. of water and take youtheory® Turmeric Extra Strength Caps. Did you know that turmeric, a spice often used in curry, is an amazing, natural way to support a healthy inflammation response in the body? Turmeric provides curcuminoids, a phytonutrient that is a powerful antioxidant and helps support a healthy inflammation response in the body. It has been show that pairing turmeric with black pepper helps the body better absorb the curcuminoids.

Here are some reasons I recommend youtheory turmeric:

youtheory® Turmeric Extra Strength capsules use Curcumin C3 Complex®, which is the most researched turmeric extract in the world.

  • youtheory turmeric capsules are enhanced with Black Pepper extract to improve absorption.
  • The capsules are perfect for vegetarians and vegans.
  • youtheory turmeric capsules are hypoallergenic, and it is free of gluten ingredients.
  • Research shows that turmeric supports healthy liver function, healthy brain function, and supports exercise recovery/offsets muscle pain associated with overexertion.
  • Turmeric also helps support healthy skin, joints, and provides the body powerful antioxidants.
  • youtheory uses the highest quality natural ingredients to help maintain overall wellness and support active lifestyles.

Eat a filling breakfast. Don't stress your body out by skipping meals. Breaking the fast with a healthy, filling breakfast will help you avoid those sugary treats that you might encounter in the office.

Did you know that sugar causes severe inflammation in the body? Starting your day with a sugary coffee and donut is setting up your body for a day of inflammation, sugar crashes and feeling tired and sluggish before noon. Not exactly the ideal morning routine right? Instead, try this yummy apple cinnamon cauliflower oats recipe!

Building Morning Routines

Building morning routines can take time and practice. Don't beat yourself up if you don't wake up tomorrow with enough time and energy to do all of these things. Slowly ease into the practice, and take it one step at a time if you need to. If you are short on time, I would encourage you to sip warm lemon water, take the turmeric supplement and say at least one thing you are grateful for before you start the day.

These small steps will help you feel better all day long! You can find theyoutheory® Turmeric Extra Strength Caps at your local Costco like I did! You will find that there are two different formulas. I was able to find the new extra strength formula. Two capsules of the new formula is equal to 1,000mg with 3x the amount of turmeric per capsule compared to the original formula which was only 450mg per 3 tablets.

Make sure to create a healthy nightly routine too.

What about you?

  • Do you have a morning routine?
  • What do you do to help reduce inflammation in your body?
  • Have you ever tried turmeric before?
