I came to the realization that bathing suit season is right around the corner now that Spring has finally arrived… and I’m kind of freaking out. I’ve decided that its time to really focus on my goals to get bikini body ready by the summer, after all I am turning the big 3-0 this year in June. Here are 10 tips to get a bikini body now. Don’t worry, you won’t find starving yourself as one of the tips.
The first tip I have is to improve your posture; do yoga or stretching and be aware of standing up straight and not slouching.
Take a probiotic every day. Probiotics are great for overall health they also help reduce any bloating or swelling in the stomach.
Drink your water did you know that drinking more water actually helps you shed excess water weight? Add natural diuretics like lemon or cucumber to your water. Adding these to my water not only promote me to drink more water since my water is now flavored. This also is a natural way to remove toxins. Check out this great post on ways to drink more water.
Snack smarter. Try to incorporate more whole foods into your diet this includes snacks. Fiber and protein will help you feel full and stay full for longer periods of time. Adding healthy fats to your diet is also a great way to leave you feeling very satiated. Snack on apple wedges with almond butter, or making homemade protein cookies or protein balls. Another great option for snacking is hummus and freshly cut vegetables. Eat more healthy fat. Although this might sound counterintuitive it’s been found that healthy fats actually help you stay full longer and make you feel fuller with the same amount of calories. I like to pair my carbohydrates with fat or proteins so that the carbs are less likely to spike my insulin and leave me hungry sooner.
Start your day out smarter. We all know the old saying don’t start your day without breakfast. I challenge you to not start your day without your vegetables. Green smoothies and egg white omelette with fresh veggies are great way to start your day and get you bikin body ready.
Add strength training to your workout routine. You’ll be surprised the progress you can make in just a few weeks. Don’t be afraid to lift heavier weights but don’t overdo it and strain yourself either. A good rule of thumb is if you can lift something for 10 repetitions without tiring, you should go up in weight the next time you do that exercise. Not sure what to do? Get more quality cardio. Join a group exercise class, bootcamp, crossfit box or find a friend to workout with you. If you find you can’t hold yourself accountable on your own, enrolling a friend or family member for support is a very helpful way to keep up with your exercise routine. Find a self tanner that actually works for your body. We all know better than to get in a tanning bed or to be out in the sun for long periods of time without sunscreen. But we also all feel a little bit sexier with a tan. There are some great products on the market now that progressively build your tan without turning orange. Just remember though hot yoga and tanning cream or spray tan often don’t mix well together!
Practice yoga or barre to help elongated those muscles. These also help with posture ,which takes us back to point number one.
Treat yourself to a new bikini and great cover-up as well. There’s no point in doing all this other work and not having a great Bikini you feel wonderful in.
